When I was creating “More Than Creative” I was SO stuck on what the services should be, what they should include, how they should be structured, etc. It was incredibly overwhelming. I felt like I was a jumble of ideas.
A mentor of mine gave me the advice to simply write down everything I knew to be true about brands, marketing, business, etc. From there I would be able to more clearly see what I should be doing to serve the people who believe the same things I do.
BRILLIANT.
It was so simple, yet so incredibly helpful. (It’s not like I’ve been hit over the head for years with the “start with WHY” concept).
So I wrote a version of a “manifesto” with a hodgepodge of concepts that I believe to be true. From there I was able to take a step back and identify my methodology…and I didn’t even know I had one!!!
The overall message made sense and I felt really clear on the direction I was headed – of course the specific details shifted along the way but the foundation was set.
But that feels familiar, doesn’t it? You’ve been in business for awhile and have figured out most of what you do and where you fit in…but you’ve never really strategized the full picture.
How do all of these services and offerings fit together? Do they even fit together at all? Why am I offering these at all?
It can become a quick spiral when you have to start talking about what you’re doing, rather than just doing it.
Then on top of that, you’re really starting to see traction and know you need to make some major advances, but need a solid foundation before you really invest in upgrading your brand assets, redesigning your website, creating content, updating email templates, etc.

The best part is that you’ll leave with a living, breathing document with all of this written out so you can refer back to it as you create content and update your website AND even when you outsource and expand your team. It’s like having an owner’s manual for your messaging!!!
Not to mention that we do this all in ONE DAY. It’s hard to pull yourself out of your business to work “on” your business rather than “in” it. I think my best work comes from getting myself out of my regular working space and locking in for a few hours to really make headway.
